IRL
In Junior High, starting somewhere around the summer after 6th grade and extending all through 7th grade, I had an complete obsession with the website gaiaonline. The site was essentially neopets for anime-crazed netizens and I got sucked in the vortex. I would honestly spend entire days posting, making multiple accounts to help raise "gold," and laboriously networking to try and raise donations to attain my dream avatars.
And years later, after miraculously remembering my password, what do I have to show for it?
My speculation payed off and, with a bit of added inflation, I'm a multimillionaire.
I'm a multimillionaire in fake online currency with fancy pixel items some people would kill for.
And that's worthless.
